Meet Giulia Cazzola, Medical Science Liaison for the North-Centre region within our Italian Medical Affairs team. Giulia’s role combines scientific expertise, relationship building, and cross-functional collaboration to support healthcare professionals and contribute to better patient outcomes.

Giulia’s day usually starts around 8:00 am with a coffee while reviewing emails and setting priorities for the day ahead. “As my role is not entirely office-based, my week can vary greatly,” she explains. “Some days are spent mainly on site with healthcare professionals, while others focus on internal meetings, strategic planning, or project work. No two days are the same, which makes my job dynamic and engaging.”

Collaboration plays an important role throughout her day. “Constant sharing with both the medical team and cross-functional teams helps establish priorities and align on key activities,” Giulia says. “With today’s tools, we can connect with countless people across huge distances while remaining in the same place. That’s something I really value in my role.”

The variety within Giulia’s role is one of the things she enjoys most. “Depending on the week, I might spend time on site with healthcare professionals, attending discussions or sharing scientific insights, or focus on internal meetings and cross-functional project coordination,” she explains. “Strategic planning, preparing materials, and reviewing the latest scientific literature are also essential parts of my day, especially in the fast-evolving field of infectious diseases.”

Another key aspect of her role is participating in local, national, and international congresses. “These events are an important opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals and discuss scientific data,” Giulia says. “They help support informed clinical decisions and encourage valuable scientific exchange between experts.”

At the end of the day, Giulia takes time to reflect and plan ahead. “I wrap up my day by evaluating the activities I have carried out and planning priorities for the following day,” she shares. “It’s satisfying and exciting to see what has been achieved and identify the next steps.”

When asked about her favourite part of working at ADVANZ PHARMA, Giulia says it is the people she works with every day. “There isn’t just one favourite part of my job — there are many,” she says. “What I value most are the relationships I build, both with healthcare professionals and with my colleagues. The collaboration, support, and expertise of my team make every task smoother and every challenge easier.”

Giulia also reflects on the skills she has developed during her time at ADVANZ PHARMA. “I’ve learned how to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining a patient-focused perspective,” she explains. “The role has strengthened both my scientific knowledge and my communication skills, while also helping me become more flexible and adaptable.”

For anyone considering joining ADVANZ PHARMA, Giulia highlights the company’s culture of collaboration and development. “ADVANZ PHARMA is an inspiring place to grow professionally,” she says.

It offers continuous learning opportunities, a collaborative environment, and the chance to make a real difference in healthcare.
